I haven't been updating my blog recently :-( I miss it... So I'm back to rant, mostly about.... BRACES! :p
Hahaha okay la my teeth aren't that straight yet but I do hope they'll look this good once they are! ;-)
So I mentioned in my previous post that I've gotten my braces done! :) :) :) I never blogged about how the experience has been though! It's been 2 weeks and 2 days into braces, and honestly right now I won't remember I have them if I don't think about them hahahaha I'm so used to them already! :D {Rewind time a little!} Before braces itself I had x-rays and impressions of my teeth done. Getting X-rays of my mouth area was sooooo awkward bcos the doc just puts you in a room, exits and shuts the door while leaving you inside with a really creepy beeping machine and your mouth open in awkward angles with plastic pieces in them to hold the position! Getting the impressions done made me wanna gag so bad, basically they put gooey pink stuff on a horse-shoe shaped metal piece and stick them right into your mouth and press really hard! Voila! I was so afraid they'd yank teeth out bcos it really felt as though the hardened goo was putting alot of pressure on my jaw! Heh heh! Braces day (16 July) came by really quickly! The whole ordeal took 2 and a half hours T-T I was so frightened, sitting outside the dentist really made me tremble a little! Beebi made it so much better staying by my side although I know that he too is afraid of needles/extractions and all that but hey!!! I was the one who has to go through the sheer terror first hand! When the dentist called me in I was super nervous, them telling me I need to - and then don't - and then need to (again) to get my teeth extracted made me even more nervous! They first stuck on the brackets with a minty glue with a syringe and then they put on the brackets one by one. After that, they made me open & close my mouth a few times to see if any of the brackets were in the way with my bite. After what feels like a long time (haha the ortho was also like "okay finally" LOL) he carried on with extracting 3 teeth! So I sat there terrified.. Oh I forgot to mention! Before bonding the doctor took alot of pictures lol and he used a stretchy plastic thing to hold my mouth open and it was soooooo uncomfortable! While I was horrified, Beebi just sat there amused watching everything hahaha that boy.. So he got my mouth numbed up with what felt like.. 5 - 6 jabs? I kept closing my eyes and saying silent prayers haha the first jab didn't hurt too bad but whoa those on my lower jaw really did hurt quite abit! :-( He then went on to use something like a plier and started yanking my teeth out.. Okay I shan't reenact the whole procedure now bcos I have one more teeth to extract and I don't want to freak myself out! OR MY READERS so let me spare you the mental picture! Here are some before pictures without braces!
And afters! :)
(The next morning after getting braces, I had it done from 6:30pm-8:30pm on the 16th)
My first braces instagram photo haha on the 3rd day I think!
Really thought I was smiling unnaturally in some photos because my mouth was so sore! :(
These photos were taken when the pain was alot more bearable and when I could finally start eating "normal people food"! Hahaha! There was so many times when I had to sit through lunch watching everyone eat and I'm like :( there's nothing here I can eattttttt :(
Our first anniversary at DOME :-)
Dearest sobbu gaga sunshine gal hahahaha.
Kindzone was held on the 4th day of braces and gosh was it hard to talk to strangers and collect surveys geez!
Just today by the pool after swimming with my dearie!
But y'all know what.. I'm gonna do E V E R Y T H I N G the ortho says so I get to see results quickly!!!
Hahaha me being self-disciplined. :)
Really thankful for the people who told me their own experiences and assuring me that it gets better, bcos it really does! I can eat KFC now BAHAHA. To the people who replied my tweets when I was all panicky and wondering if it was normal that the metal was causing so many cuts and ulcers, you guys made me feel so muchhhhh better.
Went to thread my brows for the 2nd time and this time round it didn't hurt so bad! :p Charis went with me and it was her first, but that brave girl didn't shed a single tear omgahh hahaha. Her brows look so much defined rn! :)
I have officially 18 more days to my first paper! So glad I scored a number of As in my assignments/tests thus far and I hope I get a good gpa this sem! :-)
Yay for AD for Kindzone! :') My first ever A with a distinction hahahaha
It's August right now and there are 5 months left of 2013! Gonna make them all count :)
Next month is going to be exciting bcos it's my birthday and I'm most likely going to be on a plane when it strikes midnight and I turn officially 18! HAHAHA how exciting is that! I can't wait to go to Australia! :')
